With decades long experience with Acoustic Image, New York Bass Works has a unique & intimate product knowledge of these amplification systems. David Segal, owner, founder of NYBW & stalwart AI client, has used these products himself on countless gigs and swears by them. So much so that NYBW has been a dealer in good standing for many years now. Doubling on electric and upright bass and in need of a real amplification solution? Acoustic Image!

Although we’re a relatively young company, Acoustic Image is owned and operated by people with decades of experience in the professional music and sound industry. We’re engineers (and, like you, we’re musicians) who insist upon superior sound quality and reliable performance from our audio equipment.

Acoustic Image was founded because we were never quite satisfied with the products available for the working musician. Today, if you play guitar or bass, violin, keyboard, a woodwind or even a brass instrument, or if you are a vocalist, we’ve got a sound reinforcement product designed with you in mind… one that delivers superior performance across the spectrum.

Great product designs go far beyond having the right knobs in the right places. At AI, we custom design and build by hand unique, innovative, and functional audio products that deliver a characteristically musical sound with unmatched transparency and fidelity. There is nothing “me too” in the process. In essence, we merge advanced acoustic design and switching amplifier technology with unique enclosure configurations to create compact, ultra-lightweight products offering highly accurate, full range sound.

Ultimately, our pledge to you is for quality… to deliver well-constructed, reliable audio products that serve you well night after night, year after year — and to offer a warranty on those products that is better than any other in the industry. We are able to meet both of these commitments because we design and manufacture each and every Acoustic Image amplifier in the U.S.A.”

“…the luxury of reproducing my very own sound.”– Eddie Gomez

REDDI

ALL TUBE DIRECT BOX The Finest DI on the Market • Unbelievable Tube Tone The number of A-Designs REDDIs in use on stages and studios all over the world is nothing short of staggering. Quite simply, there just is no better sounding way to convert an instrument or line level signal to XLR. Designed with the help of top studio engineers and bass players, REDDI has been widely praised by engineers and bassists all over the world as the best-sounding DI solution on the market today. It is important to note that the REDDI is not a high-gain device! Its gain structure has been painstakingly engineered to avoid the slightest compromise in sound quality. Inspired by the glorious sound of the Ampeg B-15 tube bass amp, REDDI’s 6N1-P tube-driven amplifier feeds signal directly into a hefty custom output transformer by Cinemag – a key component to providing a harmonically rich tone. REDDI’S extremely wide frequency range (20Hz to 60kHz) prevents in-band phase shift, resulting in outstanding detail and realism.

Another major benefit of its wide bandwidth is the prevention of LF phase shift by maintaining a linear response extending below the audible bass range, insuring a full, natural sound. REDDI’S distinctive bright red steel chassis sports a front-panel Neutrik XLR/1/4” combo input jack, balanced XLR output, and a 1/4” thru-put, for sending signal to a bass amp – not only useful for live applications, but also for simultaneously recording direct and miked amp tracks in the studio. A 0-16dB-Level control and a bright blue LED power indicator complete the front panel controls. On the back panel are heavy-duty toggle switches for power and ground lift, along with the IEC power outlet. The REDDI’s all-tube circuitry will enhance the character of any electrified instrument run through it – not just bass! Plug the pickup of an acoustic guitar through REDDI to add depth and fullness to its tone. Capture and improve all the richness and life of an electric piano or analog synthesizer. Warm up sterile sounding digital keyboards or drum machines by strapping a REDDI across their output – or two, for stereo! The uses are literally endless…

REDDI FEATURES:

• All-tube direct box with custom output transformer.

  • Ultra wide frequency range (20Hz-60kHz)
  • Neutrik input connector, balanced XLR out, and 1/4” thru jack
  • Inspired by the Ampeg B-15
  • Clean and airy high end, warmth, transparency, and ultra high-quality sound
  • Level control
  • Ground lift
  • Ultra bright blue LED on/off lamp
  • Zero-feedback loop design
  • Massive, custom-wound transformers
  • 6NI-P tube
  • Low-Z, transformer-balanced output

KGB-1tf

No Need for DI/Direct Boxes or Mic Preamps , the A-Design’s KGB-Itf is an instrument pre-amplifier that gives a +4dB transformer balanced line-level output. Plug in your guitar, bass or keyboard into the KGB (Keyboard/Guitar/Bass) and it will directly drive line level inputs of DAW interfaces, effects processors, power amps and line inputs of recording or FOH consoles without the need for a microphone preamp.

3Leaf Audio began in 2009 while I was playing bar gigs on weekends and using way too many effects pedals. I modified an old envelope filter to work better with my bass, and after a several dozen more tweaks to the circuit it had taken on a life of its own. I built a few pedals based on that modified circuit and gave them to friends. Over time, word spread. A few years and a few thousand stompboxes later, my creations are helping make music all over the world and are in the hands of artists like Bootsy Collins, Meshell Ndegeocello, Paul Turner, Tim Lefebvre, Sinbad, and many more.

All 3Leaf Audio products are built in my workshop located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. Modern construction techniques and precision components are utilized so that every stompbox is built to last. This includes features that can't be found on other boutique effects, like a silent relay-based true bypass system that automatically switches to bypass mode in the event of a power failure. A custom steel enclosure gives each stompbox just the right look and feel.

Each creation is honed through relentless play-testing on actual gigs. Try them and I think you will like what you hear!

Wonderlove

Hands down, the most versatile envelope filter available!

New features for v2:

2nd footswitch toggles between envelope and expression pedal control (Dunlop DVP3 recommended)

All jacks now top-mounted for easier pedalboard mounting.

External toggle for true or buffered bypass selection.

Footprint: 122 x 103 mm

Proton

A modern homage to the classic Mutron III envelope filter

New features for v3:

Tone knob for fine control over the filter sweep.

Increased sensitivity range for better compatibility with low-output instruments.

Phase-correct output for predictable use in blend pedal signal chains.

Footprint: 64 x 118 mm

Octabvre

The Octabvre MKII takes the circuit from the original and adds a toggle switch that selects between the original sound and the popular "Tim tuning" modification to bassist Tim Lefebvre's personal Octabvre. Simply pronounced "octave," it is a dual mode analog octaver that adds a harmonically rich sub octave to your instrument.

The Octabvre features a tone knob that alters the character of the sub octave. At one end it replicates the classic tone of the Boss OC-2, and at the other end it captures the gritty sub sound of the Mutron Octave. A second footswitch with a dedicated volume control solos the sub octave for 808-inspired sounds.

The Octabvre utilizes soft-touch relay bypass switching for bulletproof operation and is powered by a standard 9vDC power supply.

Footprint: 122 x 103 mm

Doom

Doom turns the idea of a fuzz pedal on its head. It responds to your playing dynamics to generate vintage synth-inspired sounds. Strong upper octave harmonics add depth without the need of additional stompboxes, although You're Doom will also interact beautifully with the rest of your pedalboard.

Doom works well on all instruments, thanks to its full frequency range output. The shape control switches between a powerful lead sound and a broad mid scoop, while the tone knob works just like a synthesizer's cutoff control to alter the high frequency content.

It is finished in raw hot-rolled steel for a beautifully brutal look and features a soft-touch relay true bypass system that automatically switches to bypass in the event of a power failure. It uses a standard 9v DC center-negative power supply (not included).
